I have been writing seriously since 1968. I wrote poetry at first and began writing fiction around 1980. Please go to my website at www.patriciahenley.com to access information about my work and life. I have published three collections of stories and two novels, which I will list below.

I live on a country road in Indiana with my husband and our four "people of fur," as one friend calls domestic animals. We have two cats and two dogs, who bring immense joy into my life.

FRIDAY NIGHT AT SILVER STAR, stories. Graywolf Press. This is out of print and someone is probably selling copies of it on ebay for 10 cents. It won the Montana First book Award in 1986.

THE SECRET OF CARTWHEELS, stories. Graywolf Press. This is also out of print. The title story was published in THE ATLANTIC and BEST AMERICAN SHORT STORIES 1990.

WORSHIP OF THE COMMON HEART, stories. Published by MacMurray and Beck and kept in print by MacAdam/Cage, who bought MacMurray and Beck. This volune contains most of the stories published in the first two collections, with a few new stories added.

HUMMINGBIRD HOUSE, a novel. MacMurray and Beck. It is still in print. This novel was a finalist for the National Book Award in 1999. It was nominated for the IMPAC-Dublin Prize by the Chicago Public Library.

IN THE RIVER SWEET, a novel. Published by Pantheon and Anchor. The PB is still in print. It was a BookSense pick and a Border's Original Voices selection in 2002.
